Mourning for Dr. Peter Ladewig

The Institute for Equipment and Environmental Engineering mourns the loss of long-time friend and supporter, Dr. Peter Ladewig, who passed away on 13 January 2017 at the age of 65 after battling a severe illness.

As the state’s director of fire disaster relief, Dr. Ladewig was one of the initiators of the Safety and Hazard Defense degree program, which is a model for cooperative studies with Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.

Dr. Ladewig chaired the Research Advisory Committee of the Committee on Disaster Protection and Civil Defense, a panel of the Ministers of the Interior. In this function, he provided important momentum for fire protection research in Germany.

The IAUT will keep an honorable memory of Dr. Ladewig.
