Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics
The Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics (ISUT) at the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg is responsible for teaching and research in all areas of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and combustion.
In particular, this includes experimental and numerical research projects which investigate the following problems:
- reactive and multiphase flows,
- sprays and spray cooling,
- laminar and turbulent flames,
- industrial processes,
- turbo machinery and fluid machines,
- flow instabilities,
- heat exchangers,
- non-Newtonian flows,
- acoustics,
- heat radiation,
- mixing improvement,
- optimization of flow conditions,
- hydraulic transport,
- medical flows, etc..
To this end, high quality measurement methods and numerical simulation programs are available.
