As of 01 January 2015, Prof. Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern took over the function of acting executive director of the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg for two years. Every two years the Max Planck Institutes regularly appoint a new managing director, selected from the staff of scientific directors.

Prof. Seidel-Morgenstern is also head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering.
