FVST at the Open House Day at Schirm GmbH
As part of this year’s Open House Day, the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering (FVST) was represented with an information and promotional booth at AECI Schirm GmbH on September 5, 2026. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Professor Hamel took the opportunity to engage in conversations with numerous visitors and provide information about the wide range of study opportunities available at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU).
The strong interest shown by prospective students and future trainees was particularly encouraging. In addition, numerous conversations were held with parents and grandparents, who play an important role in supporting their children and grandchildren in choosing a career or degree program.
The discussions focused on the diverse opportunities that OVGU offers young people – from practice-oriented degree programs and attractive fields of study to the many career prospects that open up after successfully completing a degree.
The Open House Day therefore provided an excellent opportunity to further raise awareness of OVGU as an attractive place to study and train among young people and their families. The many interesting encounters and conversations demonstrated that personal interaction is an important element in inspiring prospective students to pursue their studies at OVGU.
“We hope that our involvement has made another contribution to attracting young people to study at OVGU and thus helping us maintain strong numbers of new students in the future,” was the positive conclusion drawn from the event.
The FVST would like to thank AECI Schirm GmbH for the opportunity to present the Faculty as part of the Open House Day, as well as all visitors for the many engaging and informative conversations.
