The Women Professors Program II began in 2012. The Otto von Guericke University took part in the first application round and was once again successfully evaluated. The OVGU is therefore one of 96 Universities that received a positive rating.

The University of Magdeburg is coordinating with the growth center Fluss-StromPlus for the prospective generation of energy on Europe’s waterways. The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is supporting the prospective generation of energy on Europe’s rivers with four research projects.

University preparatory school students 16 years of age and older are able to register for the student internship Process Engineering and Technical Cybernetics until 25 August 2016. It is a fixed address for all those interested in biology, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.

A team of scientists led by the fire engineer Dr.-Ing. Andrea Klippel from the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg developed the first-ever operational civil protection evacuation strategies for individuals with physical, mental, or age-related impairments.

Dr.-Ing. Friedherz Hartmut Becker successfully defended his dissertation titled “Combustion technology for dishes with special consideration of glost-fired porcelain flatware in fast firing furnaces” on 01 June 2016.
