Mr. Manuel Janocha, B.Sc. was granted the 2016 VDI Award for his outstanding bachelor thesis on the topic “Modelling and optimizing a re-cooling water system in a chlorine alkali and vinyl plant”.

The fundraiser Rowing Against Cancer on 19 June 2016 was held in Magdeburg for the first time. In this initiative by the Living with Cancer Foundation, amateurs compete against each other in a charity race during a sporting event.

The Max Buchner Research Foundation’s DECHEMA Award 2015 goes to Professor Dr.-Ing. Stefan Heinrich. The award is endowed with 20,000 euros and is awarded annually for outstanding research work concerning technical chemistry, process engineering, biotechnology, and chemical equipment engineering.
